SNOW DAY DELAY

Greetings Adventurers,

For anyone who grew up in a climate that received winter snow, you know there was nothing better than a snow day. As quickly as the school cancellation announcement was received, sledding and snowball fights would commence! Snow days are the best, for kids. For adults, they suck.

Regretfully, I must inform you that since Sunday night, heavy snowfall, sub-freezing temperatures and a lack of adequate road maintenance services in western Washington has prevented our staff from being able to safely make it to Privateer Press HQ all week. We have lost a full week of productivity in packing and shipping the domestic U.S. backer rewards, which will delay delivery of rewards later than expected. Worse yet, the current weather forecast shows more snow from Monday through Thursday of next week, so we are bracing for another possible lost week of work.

Also affected was our freight shipment to the UK with UK and EU backer rewards. This was supposed to go out last week but additional customs declaration documentation was required in order to ensure safe delivery once it reached the UK. This was finally completed on Friday and should have been picked up Monday, but is currently stranded by the hazardous snow conditions.

We are very sorry for these continued delays. Our team wants nothing more than to deliver these rewards to all of our backers. And on a personal note, I would love to stop having to send bad-news updates. Sadly, we are at the mercy of the elements. But as soon as the roads are cleared and our staff can return to Privateer’s offices and warehouse, we will continue to move rewards out as quickly as possible.

PROGRESS REPORT

Greetings Adventurers!

APOLOGIES! I got my wires crossed on Friday and posted the Requiem progress report to the Borderlands updates. So, if you happened to back Borderlands and saw last week's update, then you already know everything below. If you didn't see my misplaced report, then here's where things stands (updated to today's date):

Our team is making great headway packing and shipping the Requiem rewards.

Australia and New Zealand rewards are en route to Aetherworks in Australia.

Orders bound for the UK and EU are 100% packed and the freight shipment should depart today for Spiral Galaxy in the UK. Once they ship the individual parcels, tracking numbers will be sent out through email.

Orders for backers in Canada are expected to depart for Lion Rampant by the middle of this week, and then domestic U.S. orders will start shipping as fast as we can pack them.

We’ll have another update later this week to check on progress at that time. Until then, happy holidays to you and yours!

Greetings Adventurers!

Our shipping and packing team at Privateer Press is cleaving through the Requiem orders. Here’s where things stand:

All Asia territories and ‘rest of world’ orders have shipped through USPS direct from PPHQ.

Australia/New Zealand orders are expected to depart for the Australian freight forwarder by Monday. Orders will be fulfilled by Aetherworks upon arriving in Australia.

All UK and EU orders are on target to depart by the end of next week in a single shipment bound for the UK where they will be individually posted to all UK and EU backers by Spiral Galaxy.

Orders bound for Canada will start getting packed next week and should be on a truck bound for Lion Rampant by the following week.

That will leave Domestic U.S. orders, which will begin packing and hopefully shipping the week of the 20th. As this is the single largest segment of the backer orders, the process is going to take a while and we’ll keep you posted along the way. Books, however, will go out first, as we are dividing U.S. shipments into books and non-books, which allowed us to keep shipping costs as low as possbile by using media mail rates to ship the books. Once the books ship, all non-book items will follow in separate parcels.

Our team is working as quickly as possible to move everything on its way to you. As shipments depart we’ll keep updating you so you know exactly where we are in the process.

Greetings Adventurers!

I’ve never been more excited to write a Kickstarter update than I am right now. After many harrowing months of transportation delays, our shipping container bearing the Iron Kingdoms: Requiem rewards has finally arrived!

Just yesterday, we received an email that the previously inaccessible area of the port  where our container was stored had opened up, and the trucking company would be contacting us soon to arrange pickup and delivery today. I thought of sending out an update yesterday, but didn’t want to jinx it, just in case it didn’t happen. We had been in that position before at the beginning of October when the container first arrived, and I didn’t want to get hopes up until we had confirmation the shipment was en route.

We lost over three months to the delays, but I’m pleased to say everything is now at Privateer Press HQ, and appears to be safe and sound!

What happens next?

With over 7,000 rewards to fulfill, this is our largest fulfillment project ever. Compounding the complexity is the very high volume of miniatures orders, making the majority of our pack out custom shipments. So, it’s going to take a while to get everything out the door, but we’ve been prepping ahead and we’re going to work as quickly as we can to get these rewards to you.

We’ll begin with international orders, which have the furthest yet to travel. For the EU, UK, Australia/New Zealand and Canada, these will be sent in bulk shipments via freight forwarders to fulfillment services that will then dispatch the individual tracked parcels locally. ‘Rest of World’ shipments will ship directly from Privateer via tracked USPS.

Finally, domestic shipments will go out, and for most domestic U.S. backers, you’ll receive your rewards in two shipments. We were able to save you a decent amount of shipping cost by planning to use USPS media mail, which allows books to be shipped at a reduced rate. So the books will come in one parcel, and all non-book items that are part of your rewards will come in a second shipment, and hopefully everything arrives within a few days of each other.

You have all been incredibly patient while we have endured these delays, but I must ask for your patience for just a little while longer. While we’re going to be packing and shipping as fast as we can, everything is going to be sent out during the peak of the holiday season. Couriers have been sending out warnings for weeks to plan ahead for holiday buying and to expect longer-than-normal delivery times, and we’ll be right in the middle of all of this. So while we are confident we can get everything shipped before the end of the year, the time it will take to get from PPHQ to your door remains uncertain.

We will of course keep you posted as things begin moving out so you can at least know which leg of their journey your rewards are in.

And once again, thank you for your incredible patience and understanding throughout this process. You have been amazing and we appreciate your support so much.
